IT’S YOUR LUCKY DAY! It’s NAKED CHALLENGE Day!

YEP, you read that right! Here’s how it works.  When you’re naked, getting ready in the morning, pre or post-shower OR in the evening getting ready for bed:

  1. Bend toward your toes (or touch your toes) with your hands
  2. Place your hands on your body, slowly roll up to standing as you lovingly touch your body as you go up
  3. Say out loud or silently: “I LOVE ALL OF ME RIGHT NOW!” (Feel free to raise your arms in exhilaration overhead at the top – like you reached the peak of Mt. Everest!)
  4. Repeat 3 X’s & SMILE! (If needed, fake it til you make it)!

WHY am I challenging you with this? Here’s the deal!

I’ve heard at least 100 times that people fear public speaking more than dying.  I believe people dread looking at themselves in the mirror naked MORE than that! Think about the thoughts you have when you look at yourself in your birthday suit.  My guess is your immediate thoughts are about how this or that spot needs to be smaller, bigger, perkier, fuller, plumper, or skinnier. Many people can’t even look at themselves naked in the mirror; if this is you, I invite you to start this challenge with your clothes on & progress from there.  The message can penetrate through the fabric!

Most of us have something (or many things) we’d like to change about our bodies, & that’s ok; what’s not ok, is to say cynical, horrible things to ourselves about our bodies.  Our bodies are THE ONLY PLACE WE HAVE TO LIVE, we should act accordingly.  They need to be treated as the temples they are & given the love & respect they deserve. 

I’ve also learned that nobody is exempt.  Even people that you think “shouldn’t” have negative thoughts about their bodies DO.  I’ve witnessed many athletes say terrible things about themselves & I know that translates to worse performance over time.  Our bodies hear everything & they respond to those words. In a nutshell, if you want to perform better, talk sweetly & powerfully to yourself!

As you start or continue the process of increasing your self.love awareness, one of the hardest places to apply that love is to your own body, BUT it’s one of the most important areas to start.  The more we can accept our bodies, where they are RIGHT NOW, the faster we can drop the self-criticism & negative self-talk & begin to accept & give more love & perform like the bad a$$es we are!  It’s a tough job hauling you around every day, so give your body some tenderness & UP THE LOVE by starting with the Naked Challenge. Have fun! Maybe invite your significant other to join you!
